Tree Bark She series: She waits at the edge of the rain
This is another piece from my 'Tree Bark She series'. The presence in this artwork is made from her fallen bark- the skin she handed me yesterday. I brought it home, sealed it, and glazed it. I made this artwork as a small vow to listen to her and carry her story forward. I named this piece 'She waits at the edge of the rain'. I will show it to her next time when I go there again. She is going to be proud of me, I believe.

Tree Bark She series: Emergence I & II
Here I present a series of recent mixed media assemblages on wood panel. These works feature natural bark fragments, gathered from fallen Eucalyptus, evoking figurative forms and quiet narratives. Accompanied by metal floral elements, acrylic paint, and gold detailing, each piece is sealed with protective layers of varnish. Though these compositions emerged intuitively through tactile engagement with the bark, shaped not by preconception but by the subtle guidance offered by the material itself, many
viewers may still see the tender outline of a mother and child, though I leave their story open to interpretation.
Mixed media assemblage on wood panel. Featuring natural bark fragments, acrylic paint, gold detailing, and varnish. The forms emerge intuitively from the material, guided by the artist’s interaction with each fragment’s suggestion.
In this work, my inspiration began with nothing but the fallen bark from Eucalyptus trees.
After carefully cleaning the pieces, the forms gradually revealed themselves. I gently refined and collaged them onto wood panels, followed by surface brushing, acrylic painting, and the placement of complementary elements particularly the metal floral motifs. Each piece was then fine-tuned with metallic highlights. The star-splattered night sky was created using mesh cloth embedded with splashed modelling clay. Finally, every piece was sealed with multiple protective layers of varnish.
